Light Sleeper Baby & Cry it Out Method

My little gal (Rienn) was a light sleeper. I find it trouble to settle her down to sleep. She was easily woken up by sounds/noises like ringing phones, running around, voices and even cooking or movement nearby. I find her very sensitive. She tends to also be very easily stimulated when she was awake and may be intense in the responses to the environment. MANY times those sudden sound startle her & making her fling out her arms and legs and waking her. My Parents advise me to snugly swaddle her so that she wont startle awake. ( very headache. Anyone can help me please. NONE. )

"Cry it out"Method

I read an article It said it's okay to leave your baby to cry, if necessary, although the baby don't advocate letting the baby cry endlessly. Typically these approaches suggest putting the baby to bed when he/she's still awake and allowing short periods of crying punctuated by comforting (but not picking up) the child.The most well known "cry it out" technique is the one developed by pediatrician Richard Ferber, director of the Center for Pediatric Sleep Disorders at Children's Hospital Boston. He says that in order to fall asleep on their own and sleep through the night, babies have to learn to soothe themselves. He also believes that teaching a baby to soothe himself/herself may involve leaving him/her alone to cry for prescribed periods of time.

So hubby please allow me to lock the door. As noones is going to pick her up. By all mean, I would like to try out this CIO method. If you really really cannot control the noise at night. (Bcos u rather choose to let ur OWN baby cry than HER crying. I can make sure she cry for one whole hour TOO.) I am not going to pat her to sleep when i already patting her for an hour or baby cradle her for long hours till she sleeps. Yet awake by unnecessary noises. (U knw how PEK CHAK is it?) I will be freaking piss off if i can't get enough sleep esp. next day i need to wake up damn early to feed her (also every 3hrly) and then go for work. U think i will have enuff slp? Seeing my gal startle awake, fling out her hands and knocking her own head. Then next day ask me to give her JING FONG SAN to eat. What is the point man. Jing Fong San is only for 1 yr old & above to consume. Read the label yourself please. Noboby will understand if only you are a MOTHER.

Mother said your daughter is lighter than Legolas( qin's Son) nowaday. You Know why? Cos she is not a Happy baby. Always got frighten up. & Making her stools GREENISH & watery (everytime let her Lao qi sai lo). Already 1 mth when i started to move back. Everyday ask me to give her JING FONG SAN lo. My tolerant also got a limit. Dun make me carry her out the house. (Sorry to say that, cos i am v agitated now.)

Recalled back.....

My actual due date was on 21 October. & i took my ML one week( 12th Oct) earlier as bcos my legs were killing me. By then i had gained for nearly 20kgs. Feeling so clumsly when walking.

Tt nite(19 Oct), i was at home watching channel 8 news, i started to feel uneasy. My lower part started to feel painful. At 1st, I thought it was okay. Cos b4 tt i had the same pain occurred a few days ago. So i tried to ignore & continue watching the news. The pain ( Contraction) occur every 15mins then 10mins one time. I had endured for nearly 2hrs. Cos my MIL said, "u go hospital oso no use, bcos u oso have to wait"." Not so fast de". About 12am, i quicky ask my hubby to take my bag and sent me to Mount Alvernia cos the pain was unbearable.

Reaching the hospital was about 12.10am. V fast cos there were less cars on the road. I was sent to the delivery room to wait. & my hubby went dwn to settle the paperwork thingy. V fast the nurse approached me. She checked on my uterus n told me tt it was only 2cm open. So probably still have to wait for 7 hrs to let it open to 10cm. Sob sob.. ;( I remember the 1st thing the nurse asked me was.. do i nid epidural. I insisted i dun want. But she said, r u sure u dun want? cos u r looking so painful nw, u knw? & she continued to say, the pain will be like 10x u r suffering right nw. In my mind i said tis "OMG, is she trying to frighten me & wanting me to take the epidural. & i still insisted i dun want.

Times passed vv slow tt nite. 1omins was like 1hr to me. I waited & waited... my uterus become more & more painful. Every half an hr the nurses come and check on me. They do scanning for my baby to ensure she still had her heartbeat beating. At 4plus.. the nurse asked me to slp sideway cos she said they couldnt detact my baby heartbeat and was like kinda low. Wa~ sleeping sideway increase the pain i had. Looking at the clock was only 4.30am i still got 3 more fucking hours to endure. Cannot cannot cannot. I nid injection. Quicky ask my hubby to call the nurses in for an injection. i had an injection on my thigh. & the oxygen they gif me to inhale doesnt have much use to ease my pain. & i tried to slp straight to relieve the pain. When nurses saw me, she asked me to slp sideway agn and curl up so tt they could use the equipment to check on my bb heartbeating. Until tt time( 5am), i surrendered. I begged for an epidural quicky. Aft the injection on my backbone, i started to feel beta but my whole boby started to shiver. Cos d medicine tt goes in was cold. My water bag burst aft the injection.

At 7plus, tt stupid gynea arrived. He checked my uterus, and told me its had opened 9cm. But my baby head still cannot be seen. He's doing some checking and told me. I think u had to go for an OPERATION. Because the baby heartbeat seem to be low and the head jam at ur pelvic bone. ( He oso said my pelvic bone too narrow to let the baby out) So die die must go for OPERATION lo(caesarean). That moment,i started to shiver,worry & frighten. Hearing the doc said, my baby heartbeat beating was low. Right away, i said okok caesarean. He saw me feeling so tense up and frightening. He suggested to me for a GA. Meaning putting me to slp during the operation. I said NoNONo. I want to b the 1st to see my gal when she out to this world. lolz

During the operation, i can feel him cutting, burning & tearing my skin apart. Luckily my hubby was beside me giving me full support. If not i will be so scare.

The moment i hear my baby crying.. i felt extremely happy. At last. Going thru 8hrs of pain, nw she was finally out. lolz. Aft the nurses cleansed her. They carried her and put it on my chest to show me hw she looks like. She had small eyes ( her eyes was shut) small nose & small lip..lolz obviously right.

Afterall, it was worth it. Seeing my little Rienn (EnEn) all my pain and hardship doesnt seem to exist.

Should I worry about spoiling my baby?

Many elderly advice us not to pamper the babies, not to carry her when she cry or rock her so much. Well, as expert said,"Ignore the advice of well-meaning relatives who think babies need to learn independence." Instead, listen to your parental instinct — that inner voice that tells you to comfort your baby when she cries. Young babies are completely spoil-proof. Your baby needs all the care and attention you can give."Spoiled children" have learned to use negative behavior to get what they want. But the baby is too young to purposefully manipulate or annoy you. She cries to communicate her needs, whether they're for a snack, a dry/wet diaper, or a little cuddling with Mom or Dad. When we respond quickly to the baby, we're building her sense of self-worth. We're also establishing a foundation of trust that can last for years to come. If we give the baby prompt attention, she'll feel more secure and less anxious, giving her the courage to explore the world on her own. And once she understands that we take her cries seriously, she'll be less likely to cry for no reason. In the long run, responding quickly to the baby's needs will make her less clingy and demanding, not more. By the time the baby is 6 to 8 months old, she'll be paying close attention to cause and effect — noticing, for instance, that her bowl falls when she drops it from the highchair. She'll also start to see a direct link between her actions and our responses. At this point it's okay to set some limits. If the baby starts crying to get something she doesn't need, hold our ground and give her a hug when she calms down. Similarly, give hugs and praise for good behavior and gently redirect her when she's doing something hazardous.The right blend of love and guidance will eventually help our child understand her place in the world. But for now, our focus should be on giving her as much attention and comfort as we can. No matter how much we give, it's not more than she needs. ( BUT STILL MANY ELDERLY DUN UNDERSTAND AND KEEP TELLING ME DUN PAMPER THE BABY, DUN CARRY HER, LET HER CRY & SHE WILL STOP LATER WHEN NOBODY RESPONSE TO HER. HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM AR.- *I have been told over and over that i'm spoiling my baby and I feel as if i am sometimes...because she cries for me to pick her up...once i pick her up she stops and start smiling. How can I break her out of that habit early before it gets worse. Babies cry to get our attention because that's the only way they can tell us what they need. As they get older, they will be more effectively able to communicate what they need without crying. I pick up my baby and I hold her plenty. If making my baby feel safe and loved and having her trust me that I am going to take care of her needs means she's spoiled, then I'm gonna spoil her rotten.)

I had a quarrel with my mum on...... She wants my baby to prolong the feeding time from 3hrs to 4hrs. But i am thinking, she was still a newborn baby 13days old. Normal feeding are every 3hourly. If she is hungry how can we stop her from drinking. :S

Its 11am in the morning, my baby gal was crying so i went over to carry her up. I tried to talk to her and hold her tightly but doesn't seem to work. I guess she was hungry. Therefore, i smacking on her lips/Chin (a newborn reflex that causes babies to turn their head toward the hand when we stroke their cheek), She was putting her hands to her mouth. Mostly, she is hungry lo. So i went to the kitchen to ask my mum what was the last feeding on her. She told me was abt 8am. Mentally counting... ya abt 3hrs.. so i asked her to make the milk for me. Out of my expectation. She told me not to carry her and let her cry for awhile and dun feed her so fast. At 1st i try to calm my baby down by comforting/carrying her. But it doesn't work.. and she was crying for abt 5-8mins. As a mother, seeing her crying and screaming so loudly,my whole heart melted. So i went to the kitchen and tell my mum. " SHE IS HUNGRY NOW, HOW CAN WE STOP HER AND DUN GIVE HER MILK." I just said finished. She started to throw her temper at me.& she said" U WANT TO FEED ..THEN FEED LA FEED LA". Then i went in the kitchen to make milk for my bb gal. She felt even more angry and started to BANG things. I tried to tolerate. But seeing my bb gal got frighten for a few times when she heard the SLAMMING sound she made. I started to lose my temper as well. I said/shouted, "She is hungry and crying for milk. How can we dun feed her. & nw u frightened her by making those LOUD BANG.
Aft tt.. she screamed at me ....xsghTYUHJANBZXCVBNM< ( I dun like reveal on wat she said ..something nt v nice to hear.) Then i carried my gal to my own room to feed her.)

Infact, i had alot of quarrelsome with my parent, including my dad. As u know tt, my dad was a regular smoker. I hate to see him smoking inside the master room toilet. Cos it make the whole room so smelly when turning on the Air-con when my baby was sleeping in the room. *STINK* and was so healthy for a baby. My mum thinks tt i am too fussy & over reacted. :@ And something i also dun like abt my dad was tt aft he finished smoking..he likes to carry her & kiss, put his OILY face to stroke on her face. WORSE THING I EVER SEE. I saw him pick up my daughter handkerchief using his foot. OMG, tt handkerchief was for my gal to wipe her mouth u knw. Hw can u use ur foot to pick up and let her use. Therefore i screamed at him. And u knw wat he replied to me. He replied in Hokkien " AR BO UN ZUAN" Meaning... how u wanna me to pick up, He replied. Waste my effort to repy back. Really no common sense. Once aft I saw it..immediately i snatched fm his hand and threw inside the washing machine.

Haiz... wat shld i do. I knw i shldn't be so rude to them. But seeing those movement/reaction they had, really make me so uncomfortable.

Wednesday night, i met an strange incident. I was being followed by one indian couple. Both aged between 35-40.

That night, my hubby fetched me back from my work. About 8pm we reached home. As usual, he took my LV handbag back and we walked separate ways. I went over to my mama's hse for dinner. Carrying my own handphone with me. Walked over to my mama's block. Pressing the lift, and wait for the lift to come down from 12th flr. While waiting, i noticed one indian couple was standing behind me. I heard both of them were talking to each other. When the lift was opened, i entered the lift first then they followed behind. And i pressed the button 7 flr, and i stepped back to let them press the button. At first, that indian lady wanted press the button but she was being stopped by that indian guy. I started to find something strange and weird on their reactions. In my mind, i told myself. I had to be very alert on their movements. When i was out from the lift, i intended to walk slowly to check which flr they were going. Never know tt they were following me out fm the lift. I felt even strange, causes staying at 7 flr were all chineses resident. They followed me to my neighbour unit ( 3rm) and i stopped there. Stared at them. That indian guy knee dwn for 10secs and when he standed up, his hands hold a 1litres water bottle. ( My Neighbour leave it outside to water her plants.) I started to ask them, what do they want and what are he trying to do. He replied to me by saying, " I am helping them to water their plants." After hearing that, My reaction was, HUH, with alot of question marks???? Then he continue to said. I knew them, I am their frenz. And i looked ard, noticed tt my neighbour's windows were all closed. I guess theres were no ones in. I started to worry, cause i am a pregnany woman ma. I need to shout for help. So i shouted for my mama, "OPEN THE DOOR." To alert the two indian couples, let them know that there were ppl at home. Then i hurry up entered the hse. My bros & dad were not at home. If not i could ask them to check on them, what r they up to. Told my mum abt the incident and immdiately called my hub to see over my blk on my neighbour unit. To check on the two indians. By the time my hub opened the window and looked over.. he couldnt see them. I guess they were gone. What's a cold sweat.

13 August was my mum birthday so i took leave to bring my mum to ION Orchard for shopping.
I phoned my mum to get ready at 12.30pm and then i booked a cab down to town. We did not manage to finish shopping in ION cause i felt very tired after walking 3-4hrs. i just bought mum a facial oil(Olive)@S$13+ from the WU YIN LIANG PING & a slipper for my hubby costed S$59.90.
We went down the basement, found alot of interesting food >>got Thai, Indo, American styles etc<<> We ate and walked along the food alley. Then walked up again to find a place to sit and had our lunch. I asked my mum, what she wanted to eat. She see see look look, finally chosen a chinese restuarant " Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House at B3. Mum ordered a mixed congee and i ordered some dim sum to share. (Steam minced pork dumpling, Chicken feet, steam custard bun, red bean pan cake. ) After finished our lunch, we went over to Shaw centre, ISETAN for baby fair. About 5.30pm we headed back. We met a malay taxi driver. He was very chatty. He told us alot about his wife (when she was pregnant) and his mother used to be a very experience massage lady. About 6pm we reached home. Both of us felt very tired after the long hour shopping. :)

My last scanning, my baby is approximately 12-15cm long. I can feel the baby practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full fledged kicks and nudges. I discovered when i was talking, my baby will listens/stays in her position (Kinda Kpo/Curious) and when i kept silent my baby will move about, this usually happened at night.

I'm at 21 weeks and I've never felt healthier, my back and feet are killing me. I also realised during pregnancy progresses there were prone to have more varicose veins appearing. It was due to the increasing pressure on the veins in the legs. I heard to help prevent or minimize varicose veins, we have to exercise daily, prop up the feet & legs whenever possible, sleep on your left side, and wear maternity support hose. During pregnancy was not easy.

It was unplanned. When we got to know it both of us were stunned. Never know it, tis day come so fast. ( Cos all the while my health was not too gd and i can miss my periods for half a yr ) Totally out of our expectation.

Recalled back.
I had my last period on 27 Dec 08. Even my colleagues see the diff on me during tis period. My Superior tease me and gif me a nickname called Mrs Sleepy. He said i lOoked restless everyday. But i din realised it myself. Not only tt, my colleague found a change on me. Whenever i came back from lunch, i will adjust the Air-con to a lower degree. But dunno why i feel cold when i came back fm outside. I rmb one day when we were off fm work. A few colleagues and i were walking to bus-stop. We chatted abt pregnancy. They asked me whether i felt diff tis few days? I told them NO, But realised after i drank coffee i will feel neasea. And they asked me to buy the pregnancy tube to test. I did. I bought a Pregnancy tube Brand "ClearBlue" costed me abt $13.50. Tat night i went back and try it out. But the test was failed. I think i had done it the wrong way therefore no result came out. diao :( then the following night i dont knw wat had happened to me, early 4plus i woke up and vomited. vomit non-stop. And tt night made my hubby couldnt slp well too. Morning when i woke up, my whole body felt so weak. I had a bad diarrhea and abdominal pain. Thereafter, my hubby sent me to see a doctor. And I took the pregnancy test.

Woke up early in the morning abt 7.30am , helped my hub to prepare hot Chocolate cereal b4 he goes to work. ( pOor hub, everyday gotta work,Only get to rest once a mth. not only tat every Mon & Thur gotta wake up ard 6.30am to go factory and open the gate.) i was too lazy to wake up to prepare him drink/food on tis two days. Sorry Ah Hub. U shld knw me well, i cant wake up so early de. heehee..

Yipee! Its Sunday, Amber and i planned to go shopping. She reached my house ard 11.am.Then we drove her car to Parco Bugis Junction. We couldnt find any carpark lots ard bugis area. Therefore Kip making round circle ard tat area. Ppl who knw me, knw tat i am a LU CHI, meaning i dun really knw the way. But i got driving license.lol So got a few time, i made her cut 3 lanes. lol ( it v dangerous) but i joke wif her says " Amber Cheow can de la.. jus blink ur eyes("Shoot Bark" in Hokkien) to the other drivers, they sure gif way to u cos u so chio..lolz we laughed till peng. Finally we managed to find a carpark lot at bugis. Then we went to KWAN INn Temple to prayed for good yr in 2009. We also Qiu Qian( 求簽) so coincidentally we got the same 簽, its was a good Qian. We were v happy. After tt we went to FU LU SHUO building to set Amber's Thailand's amulets and i went to buy 4D. Spend quite some time at the building.

We were famished then we headed bac to Parco Bugis for our late lunch at tis place called "Ma Maison" it was an unique place.Japanese chef coOking Western Style foods. We waited for abt 20minsAnd i had these cuttlefish Ink Spaghetti.$15.90 & Amber ordered a Seafood Rice $23.90. Poor Amber was told tt the food tat she ordered was nt available for tt day. She Looked Sad. Then she ordered another dish. Too bad, it was also nt available for her. Hahaha... in the end she ordered boloignees spaghetti for herself..then ala carte we ordered 6 escargots ( some kinda snail ) and desert we had the double chocolate brownie wif ice cream..yummy.. v delicoious. The bill was on her, she said she treated me for my coming bday. So nice of her.. total she spent abt $68 for tat lunch. And bought me a Branded perfume, dunno call wat issey miyake ..lol. Thank u Amber.. hee hee

Once after we restored our energy we started our shopping. We went to these shops> Esprit, Top Shop, Guess, GG5, etc etc...Each of us spent abt $150-$250. Then abt 6.30pm Amber sent me back. Really had a great time wif her.

1stly i really hope i can lose some weight, ideal wt 45-47kgs (Nw my wt was like 51-53kgs, oh my gosh.. vvvv fat alrdy leh
then change my hot-temper, learn how to be more tolerate. Change my spendthrift habit, save more $$ for my future. & then find a desire & gd job. I wish all my parents & silbings, frenz, uncle, auntie healthy and happy ;) thru out the year.. etc. etc.

i dun understand myself either.

tis moment i can joke & laugh wif u, d next moment i can frown and keep quiet.
when i feel something nt within my mean, i will be v uneasy and show on my face. jus like the chinese "Bian Lian" as fast as tat. i will not say out/tell u. i jus keep to myself and b unhappy. tat's my character. is it gd or bad?

cos to me, i treat it like u shld knw,i need nt to say out.(Only apply to those who r close to me)

Eeeee....This was a Haunted place. We stayed one night at this place called "Hotel Tijol." It a Skiing Hotel. At Night,my hub and i cannot sleep well. We can feel "something" is looking at us. Next Morning, the local tour guide told us alot of stories happened in tis place. ...vv eerie. Not only us had the experience,Even our group member can feel "something" pulling his leg while he's sleeping. . . . . . . .
